Competition Teams

Companies give dedicated dancers additional opportunities to improve their technique and artistry.

Company dancers have the opportunity to spend more hours in the studio,

and are given more performance opportunities than our recreational students.

By being on a company, dancers learn many life lessons.

They learn what it means to work as a team and value the talents of others.

They learn the value of hard work, and they gain confidence in their abilities,

as well as in their potential for growth.

We have two tracks of Company open to our dancers: Diamond Track and Emerald Track.

Diamond Track is a lower time commitment and lower investment than our Emerald Track.

Our Diamond Track also attends three regional level competitions each year.

Emeralds teams participate in one regional level competition, and two national level competitions each year.

Performance opportunities are prioritized for our Emeralds teams.

Diamond Companies are open to dancers ages 5-18.

(Dancers are required to be 5 by September 1st).

Emeralds Companies are open to dancers ages 7-18.

(Dancers are required to be 7 by September 1st).

Expectations

-Dancers are required to commit to company for the entire 2026-2027 season.

-Company dancers are required to attend at least two 2026 summer intensives.

-Company dancers are required to adhere to our attendance policy.

-All company communication will be sent via emails and the BAND app.

-Competitions for Diamond Teams are on Saturdays. Please block out the entire day as we don't receive the exact schedule until the week of (solos/duos/trios are performed on Fridays).

-Competitions for Emeralds Teams are Thursdays-Saturdays. Please block out all three days as we don’t receive the exact schedule until the week of.

-The EPIC convention in October, & RISE convention in February are required for Jr & Sr Diamond Teams, and all Emeralds Teams.

Performance & Education Opportunities

Conventions:

Conventions are on of the most valuable opportunities we offer company dancers. During a convention, dancers have the opportunity to take classes from diverse, talented, and well recognized dancers and choreographers.

Jr & Sr Diamond Teams, and all Emeralds Team dancers are required to attend the Epic Convention in October (TBA), and RISE convention in February.

REVIVE and NYCDA are optional conventions for Diamond Teams.

The Nutcracker & Studio Showcase:

Company dancers will take part in three performances at our local high school alongside the rest of the studio. The Nutcracker, which will be performed in December, Winter Recital, also performed in December, and our year-end showcase in May.

(All Ballet Classes participate in The Nutcracker. Class Nutcracker fees are included in tuition. Dancers do have the option to audition for lead or more prominent roles-the cost for those additional roles is not included in tuition).

Competitions:

Our company dancers will learn 1 to 4 routines (depending on the team) throughout the year that they will compete at three competitions. Competitions are a great opportunity for our dancers to receive judges' feedback, get inspiration from other local dancers, and build their connections as a team.

Attendance Policy

Attendance in class is essential to the success of not only the individual dancer, but to their team as well. We implement an attendance policy to ensure all dancers on company are equally dedicated to the success of the team.

-Company dancers are not allowed more than 4 absences in ANY of their classes. If they obtain more than 4 absences, they may be removed from company routines at directors discretion.

-If dancers miss ANY class, they must let their teacher know in advance via the BAND App.

-It is the dancers responsibility to get with another student after an absence and learn what they missed.
